One of the Associations biggest contributions to road safety is The Jersey Young Driver of the Year Competition an event held in conjunction with the Jersey Road Safety Panel.

The Association provides examiners for the road driving test, compiles, adjudicates, arranges and marshals the 100 question theory paper, arrange and marshall the off road tests.

In 2006 IAM President, Jersey resident and former Formula One World Champion Nigel Mansell presented the prizes at L'Horizon Hotel, St. Brelade's Bay.

This Annual competition is open to all young drivers between the ages of 17 and 24 and hold a full car driving licence.
